Weather Station Forecast Trouble Shooting

In terms of barometric pressure and forecast both are very localised so it is common to get different readings from your local weather service. Also weather stations generally predict for the upcoming 12 - 24 hours which can be quite different to the current weather situation.  The main tool used by weather stations for forecasting is the pattern of pressure changes that have occurred during the past 24 hours.  As a rule of thumb weather station forecasts have a 70% accuracy. This means that observed over a period of several weeks, 7 from 10 forecasts for the upcoming 12 - 24 hours will be correct. Observing the forecast for only a few days isn't sufficient to draw any conclusions on accuracy.
